steinbright scholarship
Description taken from Ursinus College literature (circa 1993):
The Steinbright Scholarship
"Steinbright Scholars demonstrate great potential for becoming leaders in their professional fields while developing their sense of service. They express themselves with clarity, grace and good humor, the prerequisites for effective leadership. They exhibit these characteristics through specific evidence from their high school experiences and through the selection interview.
"Steinbright Scholars are able to convey their intellectual superiority and their understanding of the ethical and moral dimensions of the human experience in society. They are aware of the need for structure as well as the need for a sense of freedom and adventure in a productive life. They see that seemingly unrelated elements of life and thought are related by creative insight.
"These scholars have attended high school in the six Pennsylvania counties surrounding Ursinus, including Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. They give indications that they will find Ursinus a good fit with their academic and personal style, and that they will enrich the campus community as a model for other students."
