by smashing the glass
against my forehead
The scars didn't bother me
inasmuch as the blood
seeping into my ears
(trapping me with my own thoughts)
Or the mercury leaking
from my fillings
as my teeth liquified
Patches intended
to keep me together
started to melt me apart
Productive destruction,
Hiroshima-like shadows
and a clock frozen at 8:16am
and paramedics eating apples
in the corner
trying to unzip the bag
